LATERAL POLICE OFFICER
The Town of Jackson, Wyoming is accepting applications from lateral applicants. Salary Range $54,144- $78,455 DOQ, full benefits. The Police Department is seeking two experienced, motivated, and value-centered individuals with proven leadership skills to join our law enforcement team. Jackson is an active year-round resort Town and the Department has a community oriented policing approach.
Primary duties include public service and protection through a variety of methods including law enforcement, crime investigation and prevention, patrol, call response, initiative and discretion, and apprehension.
Minimum qualifications for application submittal include US citizenship, 21 years of age, and possession of a valid driver’s license. For lateral applicants, typical qualifications in addition to those above would be equivalent to: certified peace officer status, an Associate Degree or two years of college level coursework, and three years of experience as a peace officer. Preference will be given to applicants with Spanish fluency and/or a Wyoming Peace Officer certification. Up to $350/month Spanish fluency stipend. $15,000 signing/stay bonus. Officers are eligible to advance in rank and compensation from Police Officer to Police Officer IV under a time in service/merit/mastery program. The ideal candidate will also possess experience in community policing with a customer focus, patrol procedures and tactics, investigations, special assignment work, a positive and energetic outlook, as well as excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
