Instructor: Dr. Lawrence J. Simon is a nationally recognized expert on sexual deviance and author of the book Murder by Numbers: Perspectives on Serial Sexual Violence. He has an extensive background in psychology, including a Masters degree in Science in 1998 at Nova Southeastern. He recently completed his doctoral degree requirements in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in forensic psychology in Miami, Florida. He has interviewed and conducted research on hundreds of cold-blooded killers and violent sexual offenders within the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Florida Department of Corrections. His doctoral research project involved investigating personality differences and specific methodologies of weapons selection conducive to multiple homicides. Quite recently, Dr. Simon was featured in Univision regarding the aspects of mass murder, specifically related to the Virginia Tech massacre and was contacted by CNN to consult on the Nevada child pornography case and appeared on CNN discussing the minds of serial murderers.
