TEXAS POLICE ASSOCIATION NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Former Round Rock Police Chief Tim Ryle takes reins of group

AUSTIN - The Texas Police Association has named Tim Ryle as the new Executive Director of the 120-year-old Non-Profit Law Enforcement Training Organization. Ryle is the former Chief of Police of the Round Rock Police Department.

The Texas Police Association, which has thousands of members around the state, promotes the professionalism of the police service in Texas by sponsoring educational and professional development training programs for city, county, state and federal law enforcement officers and public safety organizations.

"Tim Ryle is a great choice to lead the Texas Police Association. He leads by example and will continue the TPA's proud tradition of encouraging excellence in law enforcement," said TPA President Chris Havens- Deputy Chief, Burleson Police Department.

Ryle served with the Round Rock Police Department from 1983 to 2014, joining the Department as a patrol officer and retiring from the Department as Chief. He started his law enforcement career as an officer with the Luling Police Department.

Ryle has a bachelor's of science in Organizational Leadership from Mountain State University and is a graduate in the 49th Class of the Law Enforcement Leadership Command College at Sam Houston State University and the 76th class of the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development Program.
